There is nothing better in beating the summer heat than by eating good old ice cream now and then. And for parties and celebrations, celebrators and partygoers will surely enjoy your own ice cream gourmet gift basket.
Making your own ice cream gourmet gift basket is easy. Here are a few simple steps on how to make your own gift basket and what confections to include in it aside from the ice cream.
The first thing to choose is the container or the gourmet gift basket itself. Since you may be including a few heavy tubs of ice cream, a small sturdy basket made of rattan or wicker would be ideal as a container. When placed with a cotton cloth, it will serve as a temporary refrigerator so all that ice cream and sweets will not melt right away. After choosing the container, you can now choose what kinds of ice cream and confections to put in your basket.
There are several flavors of ice cream that you can place in your gourmet gift baskets. Take note that we are making a gourmet gift basket, so the kind of ice cream you have to include has to be gourmet and not just plain chocolate or vanilla in flavor. Putting in two or three pints of different flavored gourmet ice cream would suit. One good flavor well-liked by most receivers is not plain chocolate but chocolate-laced or chocolate-like variety such as mocha or toffee. You can also choose a chocolate-flavored ice cream but those with nuts and marshmallows on it. Or you can choose a vanilla ice cream laced with chocolate chips.
Another good flavor for your second tub or pint would be fruit-flavored gourmet ice cream. The most common flavor available is strawberry ice cream. Putting in a strawberry ice cream in your gourmet gift basket would be fine, but if you can put in a new fruit-flavored one aside from strawberry would be better. It would be a nice surprise for the receiver to taste something out of the ordinary.
Your third and last tub or pint would best include a healthy kind of frozen dessert such as yogurt or sugar-free ice cream, or a variety of the ice cream found in your usual stores such as a gelato or a sorbet. You can choose any flavor for this tub.
Now that you have your ice cream tubs for the gourmet gift basket, you can now add a few packs or small cartons of ice cream “partners” such as sugar cones, wafer rolls, wafer bits, chocolate chips, chocolate bits or nuggets, and candy or mint sprinkles. These will add fun to the ice cream tubs in your gourmet gift baskets.
Last but not the least, add a small bottle of syrup and a small box of white cream in your ice cream gourmet gift basket. Hot fudge or vanilla syrup is ideal for your gourmet gift basket as these go with almost any flavor of ice cream you have in the gift basket. When your basket is complete, your gift basket is now ready for delivery.
